Lotus seed paste is made of sugar, lotus seed, water and cooking oil, as filling in moon cake, baozi or bun and other sweet pastries.
Lotus Seed Paste Tang Yuan (glutnous rice balls) Recipe:
Tang Yuan or Glutinous Rice Ball is one of Chinse dessert, taste similar to Japanese Mochi, sweet and chewy texture.
a. Add 2 cups of glutinous rice flour and 1 cup of water in a mixing bowl, mix them with a spatula until it form a dough.
b. Cut it into smaller pieces, flatten the dough pieces with your palm.
c. Place small portion of OKE Brand Lotus Seed Paste in the center of the dough.
d. Pull the edges of the dough, cover the filling, seal it and roll it to smooth round ball.
e. To cook the glutionous rice ball, boil a pot of water, gently put the glutinous rie ball into boiling water and let them boil for 3-5 minutes, until the glutinous rice balls are floting on the surface.
f. Serve the cooked glutinous rice balls with ginger dessert soup or brown sugar soup.
